Hurst Flannel

The clothing industry is packed with copycats, fast-fashion garbage, and corporate boardrooms trying to sell you a "lifestyle" they know nothing about. They use dry technical jargon, cut corners to save a buck, and peddle shirts that fade and fall apart after two rounds in the washing machine.

At Dixxon Flannel Co., we don't play those games. We represent those who work hard and stay humble. Our roots aren't in a corporate high-rise; they're in local garages, concrete skate parks, loud punk rock venues, and dusty motorcycle swap meets. We didn't just tap into a niche market; we built a global family from the ground up.

Whether you’re pinning the throttle on a late-night ride, hitting a chaotic mosh pit, or putting in a 12-hour shift at the shop, you need gear that has your back. If you're ready to ditch the flimsy mainstream rags and upgrade to heavy-duty, unapologetic style, check out our flagship collection of limited-edition flannels.

The Origins: $180, a Garage, and a Dream

Dixxon Flannel Co. didn't start with venture capital or a massive loan. It started in 2013 in Huntington Beach, California, with exactly $180 and a refusal to settle.

Our founder, Danny Dreyer—known to the family as “Danny Dixxon”—was pulling 60-hour weeks as a Harley-Davidson mechanic. He lived and breathed motorcycles, skateboarding, and hardcore punk. In those scenes, flannels are a daily uniform. But Danny was flat-out frustrated with the shirts available on the market. They fit like trash, ballooned in the wind on the highway, and fell apart after a few washes.

Danny's solution? Create "the world’s best flannel"—built for those who live hard and ride fast. In the early days, he sold the first batches locally at motorcycle swap meets straight out of the back of his Scion.

That grassroots grind struck a major chord. By focusing heavily on our core community, we transitioned from a small local venture into a globally coveted powerhouse. By 2022, we surpassed $100 million in annual revenue. We swapped the garage for our flagship headquarters and showroom in Tempe, Arizona, and added a legendary second brick-and-mortar location in Sturgis, South Dakota. But even with over 100 people on the team today, that "work hard, stay humble" ethos is still stitched into everything we do.

Women's The Russell Flannel

The Anatomy of the World's Best Flannel: Form Meets Function

We don't make standard shirts; we engineer high-performance apparel disguised as timeless classics. If you’re tired of flannels that look like blankets and wear like paper, here is exactly why a Dixxon piece hits different:

1. Proprietary D-Tech™ Fabric Technology

Traditional cotton flannels are notorious for shrinking, wrinkling, and fading into a dull gray after a few cycles. We fixed that by creating our signature D-Tech™ blend. This proprietary poly/cotton fabric is engineered to be completely shrink-proof, wrinkle-resistant, and fade-resistant. It’s soft to the touch right out of the box but tough as nails on the job site.

2. Tailored Rider Fit

Standard off-the-rack shirts ride up your back the second you reach for a handlebar or a wrench. We designed our flannels with an intentional extra length in the body and sleeves. This keeps you covered, comfortable, and moving freely without looking sloppy.

3. Functional Details You Actually Need

We build gear for doers. That’s why every single flannel comes standard with:

  • Hidden Collar-Stay Buttons: To lock your collar down so it doesn't slap your neck at 80 mph on the freeway.
  • Microfiber Lens Cloth: Subtly sewn into the inside bottom corner to easily wipe down your sunglasses, goggles, or phone screen.
  • Dual Chest Pockets: Featuring a dedicated pen slot for on-the-job convenience.

Cultural Milestones & Legendary Collaborations

Our deep connection to counter-culture isn't a marketing gimmick—it’s who we are. Over the last decade, we have joined forces with cultural icons, heavy-metal titans, and legendary brands to release highly collectible, custom plaid designs.

  • Music Giants: We’ve designed official, exclusive collaborations honoring the album legacies of heavy metal and punk royalty, including Metallica (from Kill 'Em All through ...And Justice for All), Pantera, Slayer, Sublime, Social Distortion, Suicidal Tendencies, and Pennywise.
  • Automotive Heritage: From custom car builders like Kindig-It Design to hot-rod heroes Speedway Motors, Summit Racing, and the iconic Lowrider Magazine, we weave custom car culture directly into our patterns.
  • Action Sports & Culture: We’ve dropped signature apparel with motocross daredevil Travis Pastrana (Channel 199), skate legend Steve Caballero, and tattoo innovators Club Tattoo.

Beyond the style, we believe in using our platform to lift others up under our motto: "Grow to Grow, Support." We regularly launch cause-driven, limited-edition runs that have raised vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-A-Wish, Childhelp, High Fives Foundation, and veteran suicide prevention initiatives.

The Power of the Drop: Why Every Flannel is Made Only Once

Here is the golden rule of the Dixxon family: Every flannel design is produced exactly once.

We completely reject the wasteful corporate model of mass overproduction. Instead, we operate on a hyper-limited release "drop" model. We manufacture a finite quantity of a specific plaid pattern, release it to the community, and when it is sold out, it is gone forever. No restocks. No reissues.

This creates an intense level of excitement and a massive secondary collector's market. Popular drops frequently sell out online within minutes. It forces us to keep innovating, keeps our designs completely exclusive, and guarantees you won't look like every other guy walking into the local bar or garage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What makes Dixxon flannels different from regular cotton flannels?

Unlike traditional cotton flannels that shrink, wrinkle, and fade after a few spins in the wash, Dixxon flannels are engineered with our proprietary D-Tech™ fabric technology. This specialty poly/cotton blend is completely shrink-proof, wrinkle-resistant, and built to retain its vibrant color over years of heavy use. We also design our shirts with extra length in the body and sleeves to prevent them from riding up while you ride, wrench, or skate.

How often does Dixxon drop new flannel designs?

We release new limited-edition flannel designs throughout the year via a hyper-exclusive "drop" model. Because every single plaid pattern is manufactured only once, there are no restocks or reissues. Once a specific flannel design sells out on our site, it is gone for good, which is why our drops often sell out within minutes.

Who founded Dixxon Flannel Co. and when did it start?

Dixxon Flannel Co. was founded in 2013 by Danny Dreyer (known to the community as "Danny Dixxon"). At the time, Danny was working 60 hours a week as a Harley-Davidson mechanic and started the company out of his garage with just $180, selling his first batches directly to riders at local motorcycle swap meets.

What practical features are built into a Dixxon flannel?

Every Dixxon flannel is built for function and everyday utility. Standard features include hidden collar-stay buttons to keep your collar from flapping against your neck at high speeds, a premium microfiber lens cloth sewn into the inside bottom corner for cleaning glasses or screens, dual chest pockets with a dedicated pen slot, and double-stitched reinforced seams to prevent tearing.

Where is Dixxon Flannel Co. located?

Our global headquarters, flagship showroom, and warehouse are located in Tempe, Arizona. We also operate a legendary second brick-and-mortar retail showroom in Sturgis, South Dakota, home of the world-famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Beyond our physical roots, the #DixxonFam spans the entire world; we operate dedicated digital storefronts across the globe, ensuring our international communities can get their hands on our exclusive drops without the hassle.

Does Dixxon make clothing for women and children?

Yes. While we started with men's apparel, the Dixxon family has grown to include fully dedicated product lines tailored specifically for women and youth. Every piece across all collections maintains the exact same high standards of durability, craftsmanship, and signature D-Tech™ performance fabric.
